Ms. Savoia

Learning Lab Teacher and Receptionist

Rosemary Savoia has been a part of the Kentwood Program since 2010. She has been thoroughly trained in the Kentwood systems, and has held the position of Teacher's Aide in the Learning Lab. In addition to this position, she has been assisting with various grade levels throughout the Kentwood School. Mrs. Savoia relocated from New York to South Florida in 1997 along with her family. Her background encompasses administrative positions, and managerial duties for several upscale retail establishments. Benefitting from her past work experience, she brings to the Kentwood Family, a combination of both organizational and interpersonal skills. On a personal level, Mrs. Savoia has raised three children, and has been a constant, positive influence in the lives of her grandchildren. The combination of her professional and personal lifetime experiences has definitely been an asset to her role at Kentwood. Mrs. Savoia claims that her years with the Kentwood Family have been far more rewarding than any of her previous employment. She realizes that her true passion was, and still is, that "what really matters is that you are important in the life of a child."

Time really goes by so fast, as now the summer vacation is over and another school year is upon us. I hope everyone had a great summer doing some of your favorite activities and exploring new ones. A special "welcome back" to all the returning Kentwood families, and a very warm welcome to all the new families, joining us for the first time. Congratulations on choosing Kentwood for your child, as we encourage, enrich and totally commit to giving them a successful school year. I am beginning my 6th year as a Teacher's Aide in the Learning Lab with Mrs. Costa, where we are given the opportunity to locus on your child's individual needs. A little about me, I am an original New Yorker, born and spent my childhood growing up in Brooklyn (Sheepshead Bay area). I was blessed to marry the man of my dreams 52 years ago. We had a wonderful life together completed by raising three remarkable sons. Life has come full circle now and I am happy to have three loving daughter-in-laws and last but not least, eight very special and loving grandchildren. Since being a widow for the past eleven years now, I have been very fortunate to have the unconditional support of my family, wonderful friends, and co-workers. My love of life comes into play with doing what make me happy. A peek at what makes me happy is family get-togethers, my love of gardening and bringing friends together for social events. However, what really warms my heat the most is my scrapbooking. I want to share with my family all the cherished memories of pictures, drawings, and letters remembering their life growing up. It is always important to have these memories forever to share with their own families. I have worn many hats of employment in my career, but I can honestly say, without any doubt, those six years ago, coming to Kentwood has been the ultimate reward for me. Where else can each day you get wonderful good mornings and hugs. Most important, when a child is struggling with a certain task and you are able to help that child with that task. In a split second, when that child turns to you and says" I got it, I know how to do it now Mrs. Savoia,", the feeling is amazing and so satisfying. Best of all, you know it has been "a good day". Looking forward to saying hello to all the parents I know and excited to meeting all the new families at Kentwood to personally welcome you.
