About Kentwood
The Kentwood program, founded in 1999, is a fully accredited day school developed for a population of potentially average to bright children who were not experiencing success in traditional school settings.
In many cases, traditional schools were either too expansive—leaving students overwhelmed, confused, and unable to cope—or too restrictive, placing them alongside peers with more severe social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. These children often faced difficulties that extended beyond the classroom, affecting their home life, social interactions, and emotional well-being.
Some students may have been diagnosed with ADHD, Asperger’s, or related conditions. Many have no formal diagnosis at all—they simply do better in a smaller, safer, and more structured environment.
Our Approach
Kentwood adopts a holistic approach to education—one that nurtures the whole child through a structured, supportive setting with clear expectations, consistent guidance, and meaningful rewards.
Our success is built on a deep understanding of how a child’s challenges impact the entire family. With our Therapeutic Intervention model and exclusive teaching systems, we focus on rebuilding trust and confidence in the school environment.
By fostering self-esteem and creating strong connections between students, staff, and the Kentwood setting, we equip our students with the skills and tools they need to thrive—not only in school, but in life.
